However, it is only possible in a game with a high amount of shared cards. If you have an ace and a king, your hand is a full house, making it difficult to beat if you make a bet immediately.

In a game of Texas Hold’em, the best possible hand is a “straight” made up of five cards of the same suit. A “backdoor flush” is a hand made up of two pocket cards of the same suit that needs seven cards on the river to complete. However, if you have five pocket cards of the same suit and a jack or queen on the river, you can complete your straight.

The structure of a poker game also allows players to bet their entire stack. This is the best and most fun part of the game. Generally, players have to contribute at least the minimum amount to the pot to continue playing. When the betting phase is over, players reveal their cards one by one, in turn. In a game of Texas Hold’em, each player has seven cards and can make the best possible hand with the cards in the pot. Depending on the game and the number of players, the rules vary. Some games limit the number of shared cards to two or three.
